The Limited Edition X1 is built in small batches in our Danish workshop, where we continuously refine the instrument and experiment with new ideas, materials, and construction details. Producing around 10 pianos at a time allows us to give far more attention to every part of the process – from sound and touch to finish and overall feel.
Our Danish workshop is also where we develop and test our newest ideas and improvements. Together with advisors from renowned parts of the piano building industry, we continuously refine the instrument’s soundboard design, sustain, tone, responsiveness, and overall construction. We are also exploring construction methods inspired by traditional grand pianos.
The standard X1 is produced in collaboration with our manufacturing partner in China, allowing us to keep the piano far more affordable while still maintaining the core Keybird concept and playing experience. Many of the improvements and ideas developed through the Limited Edition project also find their way into the standard production models over time.
The Limited Edition X1 represents the most refined and up-to-date version of the instrument we currently build, with each small production batch giving us the freedom to continuously improve and evolve the piano over time.
The Keybird can be separated into a Soundbody and Keybed, enabling it to be easily dismantled and transported. Our pianos are designed in Denmark with a focus on high quality and functionality – at an affordable price.
